It was the natural harbor of the city of Dubai that served as the hub of fishing and pearling commerce. Emaar and Dubai Holding have collaborated on a new project, the Dubai Creek Harbour, which focuses on the city's source of income and culture. With the help of Dubai Creek's historical and environmental characteristics, they designed a smart, sustainable, and environmentally friendly metropolis. Dubai Creek Harbour, a 6-million-square-meter mixed-use development adjacent to Ras Al Khor's national wildlife sanctuary, combines waterfront eco-resorts, a marina and yacht club, commercial and retail space, and cultural, recreational, and educational services. Additionally, it will establish a mode of transportation that residents of the neighborhood may utilize to go to and from the city. The Tower, a new skyscraper designed to be the world's highest architectural design, will be built in Dubai Creek Harbour. Its shape is based on a blooming lily flower, which has been influenced by Islamic culture in the nearby area. Rotating balconies, observation decks, and a hotel will be included in the design. Calatrava, a Spanish-Swiss architect, designed the Tower and received approval from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. By the time it's finished, Dubai Creek harbour, which opened in 2006, will be double the size of Downtown Dubai.
